Engineering & Manufacturing

Rotating equipment, rolling stock and finished goods.

How we support engineering & manufacturing

General engineering covers the widest range of parts we protect: machined components off the last operation, rotating equipment waiting on installation, rolling-stock spares, and finished goods packed for dispatch. The common thread is a bright surface that has to stay that way through a storage period nobody can predict at the time of packing.

The corrosion problem

Most corrosion damage in a workshop happens after the work is finished. Parts are cleaned, machined and then set aside on a rack, in a crate or in a container, and the protection applied at that moment has to carry them the whole way. Sealed housings are the awkward case, because the interior is the part you cannot wrap.

Where we work in this sector

Motors, pumps and gearboxes
Sealed rotating equipment where the internal surfaces are the exposure, not the outside.
Rail and rolling stock
Components and spares held between overhauls.
Machined parts and assemblies
Bright surfaces straight off the machine, packed and stored.
Finished goods and export packing
Product packed for dispatch, often sitting longer than planned.
