Defence and government inventory sits still for a long time, often in conditions nobody chose: humid depots, salt air, sea freight, forward storage. Bare and machined metal corrodes in exactly those conditions, and a part that fails inspection on issue is as unavailable as one that was never delivered.
SBM specifies and supplies the packaging that prevents it: VCI films and papers, aluminium barrier laminates, desiccants and emitters, cut, sealed and applied to the asset rather than bought off a shelf by the roll.
What we do
Long-term preservation & storage
VCI and barrier systems for equipment going into extended lay-up, where the packaging has to hold for the whole storage period rather than the transport leg alone.
Spares, components & sub-assemblies
Cut-to-size bags, wraps and sealed barrier packs for machined parts, bearings, fasteners and rotating equipment, sized to the item, not the pallet.
Marine & vessel assets
Corrosion control for equipment held or moved in salt air, including barrier-foil bagging with desiccant for sealed enclosures.
Onsite packaging at your location
For assets that cannot travel to be packed, we package in place (at your site, base or depot) and leave the item sealed and documented.

We describe what our packaging is built to do, not approvals it does not hold. Where a requirement calls for a named standard or specification, send it to us with the enquiry and we will confirm in writing what we can and cannot meet before you order.
