How we support automotive
Automotive supply runs on parts that are machined bright, handled often and then held in a spares network, on a production line, or in a container between two countries. We supply the films, papers and bags that let a finished surface stay finished from the last operation to the point of fitment.
The corrosion problem
Handling puts salt and moisture from skin onto bare metal, and a part that is packed warm will condense as it cools. Neither is dramatic on its own; both are enough to mark a ground or plated surface before it reaches the customer. Rejects at goods-in are expensive out of proportion to the part.
Where we work in this sector
- Service and spare parts
- Long-tail componentry held in a distribution network.
- CKD and SKD export packs
- Mixed-metal kits shipped as a set and unpacked months later.
- Tooling and dies
- High-value steel that spends most of its life stored between runs.
What we usually recommend
- VCI Films & Wraps
Bags and sheeting cut to the part, with the inhibitor carried in the film itself.
- VCI Papers, Foils & Laminates
Interleaving and wrapping for finished surfaces that must not be marked.
- Custom cut-to-size & heat-sealed packaging
Where a standard size wastes material or leaves the part loose.
