Control gear, assemblies and static-sensitive parts.
How we support electrical & electronics
Electrical and electronic assemblies fail from corrosion long before they look corroded. Contact surfaces, connector pins and board-level terminations degrade at humidity levels the rest of the equipment tolerates without trouble. We supply anti-static VCI films, emitters and desiccant systems for control gear, spares and stored assemblies.
The corrosion problem
This is the one industry where the packaging itself can be the hazard. A film that protects against corrosion but carries a static charge is no use around sensitive components, so the inhibitor and the anti-static property have to come together. Enclosed cabinets add the second problem: no airflow, so any moisture that gets in stays in.
Where we work in this sector
- Control panels and switchgear
- Cabinets held in storage or shipped assembled.
- Boards and component stores
- Static-sensitive parts where the wrap must not carry a charge.
- Instrumentation
- Fine mechanisms and contact surfaces intolerant of even light corrosion.
What we usually recommend
- VCI Films & Wraps
The anti-static grade adds dissipative properties to the same VCI film, for assemblies where discharge is as much a risk as corrosion.
- VCI Devices, Emitters & Powders
Emitters protect the inside of a sealed enclosure, which is exactly where control gear corrodes.
- Desiccants & Moisture Control
Removes the residual humidity sealed in at packing time.
